Writers’ Guilds

As soon as I could, I joined the Great Britain branch and my experience and published credits qualified me as a full member. And that’s the advice I want to pass on to you, once you have accumulated enough creditable writing experience and published items then join a Writers’ Guild or Association wherever you are.

These organizations speak on your behalf and represent you in many ways, such as negotiate for fair fees with television companies.

So ask at your local writing group, or search the Internet. I firmly believe in these associations and what they can do for you as a writer.

‘I write to give myself strength. I write to be the characters that I am not. I write to explore all the things I'm afraid of.’ - Joss Whedon
